GT3 LAVAREDO – UCI Gravel World Series e Randonnée
The first climb: from Auronzo to Forcella Zambei – the ascent that ignites the bike race
GT3 Lavaredo comes to life in Auronzo di Cadore, where athletes leave the valley floor and begin to gain elevation along the paved road toward Passo Sant’Antonio.
It is a steady climb, immersed in the forests of the Dolomiti Bellunesi, allowing riders to find rhythm and focus as the panorama gradually opens onto the surrounding peaks.
At Casermette, the route turns right toward Danta di Cadore and, after passing the Piana delle Torbiere, enters the first gravel section. The ascent culminates at Forcella Zambei, below Col Caradies, an extraordinary scenic viewpoint. From here, the trail toward Santa Barbara leads into a wild and silent environment, with mixed terrain and variable gradients that test both technique and effort management.
A complete and iconic climb: the perfect introduction to the spirit of GT3 Lavaredo.
The second climb: from Campitello to Malga Klammbach – 25 km and nearly 1,000 meters of pure alpine adventure
The second major climb starts from Campitello in Val Comelico and develops over 25 km with almost 1,000 meters of elevation gain.
Three sections mark this long Dolomite adventure:
-Campitello – Sopalù – Padola
A gentle and flowing stretch that crosses picturesque villages and prepares riders for the real climb.
-Padola – Val Grande – Statale del Passo Monte Croce
Here the climb becomes demanding: first on asphalt, then on compact dirt, with increasing gradients.
-Malga Nemes – Malga Klammbach
A long progression immersed in spectacular alpine scenery, with views of the Dolomiti di Sesto and as far as the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
A scenic and complete climb, rewarding every meter gained with unforgettable panoramas.
The two intermediate climbs in Val Pusteria – warm legs, high rhythm, Dolomite landscapes
Between the major ascents, the route offers two intermediate climbs to maintain rhythm and responsiveness:
-San Candido – Bagni di San Candido – Baranci
A steady climb through forests and clearings up to the Baranci ski slopes, ideal for warming up the legs.
-Dobbiaco – Passo Cimabanche
A smooth and fast progression with iconic views: Lago di Dobbiaco, Lago di Landro, Tre Cime di Lavaredo, and the Cristallo massif.
Two “intermediate” climbs that leave their mark, both on the legs and on the eyes.
The third climb: from Fiames to Passo Tre Croci – the high altitude of GT3 Lavaredo
The third climb is a journey into the high altitude of the Dolomites.
From the track of the former Dobbiaco–Cortina railway, the route climbs beneath the walls of Pomagagnon, reaches Mietres, and descends among the larches toward Malga Larieto.
From Rio Gere begins the final progression on dirt up to Passo Tre Croci, the gateway to Sorapis.
This is followed by a descent of more than 20 km through Val Grande and the Foresta di Somadida, down to Auronzo di Cadore, beneath the imposing Marmarole.
